SDSCPA DANCE CONNECTIONS

SDSCPA’s Dance Department has registered to send a team to Vancouver, Washington for the Northwest Regional High School Dance Festival, but we need to raise $20,000 by January 1 to cover the costs of attending. The festival runs from Friday, February 15 through Monday, February 18, and will include master classes, auditions for conservatory and university admission and scholarships, evening concerts, and dance performances. Students will also be able to apply for admission and scholarships to summer intensive programs at a variety of institutions throughout the country.

During the next four weeks, dollar for dollar, any donation to the Dance Department’s Dance Connections fundraising campaign will be matched, up to $1,500.  Please give now to help send a dancer to the Northwest Regional High School Dance Festival!  If the total donated reaches an additional $1,500 by December 20, it will become $3,000 thanks to the generosity of Connie Hall.

Please join us as we broaden our fund-raising goals to connect all of our dancers with post-secondary and professional opportunities. After the tremendous success of SDSCPA dancers at the National High School Dance Festival last year, where seventeen dancers received numerous scholarships and admission offers, we want to provide similar opportunities to all dancers by funding not only participation in high school dance festivals but also SCPA’s on-site auditions, master classes, dance intensives, and visiting choreographers. Through these programs our students are given the chance to audition for scholarships, meet (and impress) professionals in their field, and audition for the best conservatories and colleges in the nation.
